Students in Philos Classical Christian School

Equipping Students to be the Person God Created Them to be.

We want our students to be able to think for themselves through a Biblical worldview and our classical Christian curriculum educates to that end.

Students are reading in Kindergarten, learning through phonics. We start cursive writing (which develops the mind) in first grade so that by 4th grade all writing is cursive.

Classical education starts with memorization of various, songs, poems, chants which then build the foundation for logic and rhetoric on later grades which creates the critical thinking.

A Day at Philos

Philos Classical Christian School students engage in history, science, literature, and math lessons.

The students’ day is filled with not only academic learning, but also Biblical learning of the truth of God and then practicing living these principles throughout the day. Our day begins with Worship in morning assembly where students learn songs and hymns, including “Can You Tell Me the Kings of Israel”, and the “Presidents” Song.

Each week, Art class highlights the unique creativity of each student while learning about the classic artists of the past. And the students love using the various mediums, techniques, and textures in painting and drawing.

PE brings out the competitiveness in the student while they also learn and implement great sportsmanship where they care about other students’ well-being.

The Philos field trips include various outdoor activities where the students learn through hands on experience. Some of these activities include:

  • a day at Horton Haven Christian camp
  • visiting the Warner farm learning about animals and growing crops
  • a day hiking at Henry Horton state park cooking lunch over the fire
